This addon has been suggested to me couple of times already, so I think it’s time to finally check it out!

If you have loads of different addons for different situations, then it might be a good idea to disable the ones you do not currently need. Addon Control Panel is a must-get for that job!

Whiners Beware! Blizzard Starts Banning Players From Cataclysm Beta!

The one major thing I hate about betas is some of the players who can’t seem to get the concept of beta testing. These are the guys who go into the forums and post topics where they are furious when something doesn’t work and they demand the developers to change things! Reading those topics makes me want to facepalm so hard, I would probably need some medical help after that.

Now it seems that Blizzard agrees with me and they have decided to take severe action against these kinds of players! Players who continue provide horrible feedback (for example: “AMAGAWD, FIX IT FFS!”) will have their beta access taken down and sent to somebody else who can provide more intelligent feedback. I hate to go all forum moderator on you guys, but we’ve seen a recent downward spiral in the quality of some of these threads and posts here on the beta forum.

Story time: I started posting heavily in the Lich King beta forums. It was a great experience and lot of players enjoyed the opportunity to be able to have intelligent conversations directly with the developers. I’ve heard over and over ever since then what a positive experience that was for a lot of players. It’s for that reason that I am going to be fiercely protective of the quality of posts here in the Class Discussion forum.

If you see a locked thread, chances are we thought it crossed the line. If you keep making the kinds of threads that get locked, then you’ll be removed from the beta and we will replace you with someone who can provide intelligent feedback. Sorry to sound like a jerk — I hate making these kinds of posts. But we want participating in the beta to be a positive experience.

So if you are going to post something in the beta forums, makes sure to provide valuable and intelligent feedback! Otherwise you might find yourself not being able to log into the beta anymore..

You know what’s strange? When you ask a paladin to give you some missing buff, you have to ask him about 20-30 times before he finally buffs you. And then you realize it’s the wrong buff.. What’s up with that?

You heard it right, folks! World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Beta is now live!

Blizzard newest community team member, Lylirra announced the start of the Cataclysm beta on Blizzard’s official WoW forums!

The World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta test is live! Each week we will add new World of Warcraft: Cataclysm playtesters. To opt in for Blizzard Entertainment beta tests, you must create a beta profile using the Beta Profile Settings option located in the “Manage My Games” section of your Battle.net Account Management page.

Keep in mind that players who gain access to Cataclysm beta do not receive beta keys. Instead, their accounts are automatically flagged for beta access.

Please note that players selected via the opt-in system do not receive beta keys. Rather, your account will be flagged automatically and an email will be sent to you. Simply log in to your account by visiting http://battle.net when you receive a beta welcome notice and check your “Manage My Games” section to verify that the beta client is available for download. Be careful when reading emails claiming to be beta invites. Scam emails often use clickable links to gather your account information, so the safest practice is to go to http://battle.net to check on your beta invitation status. If you would like tips on how to arm yourself against phishing attempts, head over to the Battle.net Account Security page: http://us.battle.net/security/

Update: Lylirra has now confirmed that people outside US are getting invited as well. Please keep in mind that Blizzard is still processing invites so there is still a chance that you might get one this week!

Late late late!

Sorry for the late and short Addon Watch episode! I was supposed to record all the required video footage for this episode during mid-day, but the maintenance on my realm lasted longer than I had anticipated. It’s now 11 PM in here and I finally managed to get everything done! So here it is!
