WoW: Cheater Guild Banned – Left 4 Dead Free 24 Hours Gameplay

by Mike on May.01, 2009, under May 2009, News Corner

WoW: Cheater Guild Banned

Recently, the new raid instance Ulduar opened up its doors in World of Warcraft. Shortly after this instance was introduced, reports started to circulate around the WoW community that a mysterious guild had cleared many of Ulduar’s bosses in their “hard modes” in one day.

There were rumors that this guild was using some sort of hack to beat these bosses. With a little bit of investigation it was found out that one of the players in this guild was using a GM Item named Martin Fury. (Martin Fury has a clickable use “Kill all enemies in a 30 yard radius. Cheater.”) The player and the whole guild has now been banned.

Update: It would seem that this player used an item named Martin Fury, not Martin Thunder.

According to the guild, one of their guild members had their account hacked. After Blizzard had rescued this account, one of his low level alts was wearing this GM Item. So it would seem that this was a mistake done by Blizzard, if this story is to be believed.
